Lights On Display is a tradition in Los Angeles since 2003, and a family tradition starting back in Indiana in 1964. This computer controlled residential Christmas display is one of the most unique and elaborate in the country. The 10 minute show and animatronics were designed, built, programmed and installed by Mike Ziemkowski, who has been doing a display since the 70s. The display has a little over 50,000 LED lights synchronized to a musical track, along with projected original video on a big screen wreath. An animatronic Santa Claus directs the show as "DJ Jingles" spins the hits and "Frosty the Snowman" performs. They're all accompanied by dancing and singing elves. Above the display, Santa and his sleigh is pulled by Rudolph, as they take off from the rooftop each evening. The centerpiece of the show is a 15' tree covered with computer controlled RGB pixels and traditional mini lights, capable of displaying images and patterns throughout the show. Falling snow is also a key element in the display and a big hit with kids of all ages! The display has been featured on the History Channel's Modern Marvels, the Travel Channel, Good Morning America, the "Tech Guy" radio show, and last year it was a winner in the "Let it Glow" contest on The Today Show.
