Description:

My inspiration is Clark Griswold from Christmas Vacation. That scene where he plugs in the lights and the look he has when the lights finally light up and he yells to the family is my inspiration. I play that movie in my garage while I set up my lights. It takes me roughly a week to fully set everything up.

I have a total of 17,500 lights this year. My number has gone down since this year i have actually fully converted to LED lights. I was once up to 25,000 lights incandescent. I have been building my Christmas light display since 2011 that started with a strand of icicle lights and some rope light. I have been adding around 3-5,000 lights every year. The way i have my lights set up is for controller boxes for a light show, which now after converting to LED I am ready for next year. My tree's are 16 strands ready for a box per tree and the rest of the house is set up to be run by multiple boxes. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. When I ran incandescent I had to run my display on 4 separate breakers and next year i have already set up my electrical to the house to run a separate breaker box in the garage for my Christmas lights.

My house is in the flight path and that is why I have written NOEL on my roof so that any adult or kid who loves Christmas can see the house on their flight into John Wayne.
