Do you know a house that should be on our site?

Lights of the Valley is designed for showing holiday decorations in the greater San Francisco Bay Area / Northern California region that are unusual, elaborate or decorated beyond the traditional strings of lights. Not every house that is submitted will be displayed.

Please, do not be offended if you submit your house and its not used.

Submit a House or Community to Lights of the Valley
This website is compiled from homeowner and website visitor tips. Most were confirmed by homeowners this year; several were not because phone numbers or email addresses were not available.

We rely on the public or homeowners to send additions or omissions. We like to have photographic evidence of an impressive display before we add an address to the website.

Email your submission(s) with photos to:

lights@lightsofthevalley.com

or snail-mail them to:

PO Box 1112
Livermore, CA 94551-1112

Include your name, the address & city of the display, information or a summary about the display and any special features or scenes that the display has, as well as any website or video links  and don't forget to send us the digital photos !!

PHOTO RULES: At least 800 pixels wide - nothing smaller please. Each photo should be under 3 megs in size. No more than 10 megs total per email - you can send multiple emails spaced a couple of minutes apart so the servers don't get bogged down.

HINTS: The "Best" photos are taken at dusk - before its completely dark. Always use a tripod. Use the self timer to eliminate camera shake. Do not use the flash. Try several different shutter or timing modes.

Add code to YOUR website to display the House of the Day

You can display the House of the Day on your website!  Not sure what that would even look like, or how professional it is?

Well, look to the right  ------->  or look here for an example of what it would look like, then take this one line of code below and place it on your site at the location of where you want the image and text to appear.  The House of the Day will automatically update each day. You don't have to do anything other than to place the code below on your site. The "official" list of homes will display between November 23 and January 1.

Here is the code - NOTE that it needs to be one continuous line, and not wrapped like it is here (its wrapped due to space limitations).
